Coaches urged to nominated players to attend Devon U18 trials

COLTS coaches around the county are being asked to nominate players they feel have the potential to play for Devon Under-18s.

All clubs should have received (or be in the process of receiving) an email via GMS asking for nominations. Once those have been received the intention is to hold an open trial on the RFU’s artificial grass pitch at Ivybridge RFC on Sunday, October 14, 2018 between 2-4pm.

This will then be followed by a series of development games and training sessions, which have been designed to have minimal impact on all clubs’ playing calendar (see schedule below).

Last season was a great success for Devon under-18s with more than 60 players attending the trial and more than 40 players in various matches.

Devon hope the 2018-19 season will be even more successful and so coaches are urged to nominate players by Friday, October 12, 2018 via the form sent out to clubs. If anyone has any queries or would like more information they should contact Simon Fuller at srfuk@live.co.uk.

Devon Under-18 Schedule

Sunday, November 4, 2018 – Development match against Cornwall at Ivybridge

Friday, November 16, 23 and 30, 2018 – training sessions (non-contact sessions focussed on conditioned games, skills, tactics) – location TBC
