Venues and kick-off times confirmed for home Under-20 County Championship fixtures

THE venues and kick-off times for Devon Under-20s’ 2019 Jason Leonard County Championship home matches have been confirmed.

The Green and Whites won promotion back to the top tier of the competition after impressing last season and will face games against Cornwall, Gloucestershire and Hampshire this term.

They will open their campaign away at Cornwall on Sunday, February 3 (St Austell, 2pm).

They will then play Gloucestershire at Crediton RFC on Sunday, February 24 (kick-off 2.30pm).

Their final group game will take place at Ivybridge RFC on Sunday, March 17 (kick-off 2.30pm).

If Devon were to finish in the top two in their group they will then progress through to the knock-out stages and could secure a further home fixture.

There is also a chance that players featuring for Devon could earn England Counties honours. Last season, Mitch Pinkus and Max Keen both went on tour to Georgia with the England Counties team.

A South West team will be selected to attend the England Counties trials, which this season will be held on May 11-12.

Devon hope to announce training/trial dates for the under-20 side in the next week or so.

Meanwhile, Devon also hope to officially confirm the venues and kick-off times for the senior men’s County Championship games in the next few days. They will be at different venues to the under-20 games.
