The first Devon pitch-up-and-play event of the new season took place at Brixham RFC on Monday night.
The event attracted around 20 players of differing standards and ages.
Devon’s pitch-up-and-play sessions are aimed at male adults who are either new to the game, returning to rugby after a long period of not playing, veteran age (typically over-40) or just social players who do not play league rugby.
Players just turn up on the night and teams are arranged. The laws are adjusted to suit the age, experience and abilities of the players.
The sessions are then followed by food and a few drinks.
Currently the next pitch-up-and-play session will be held at Ivybridge RFC on Monday, December 3.
However, more dates could be added into the calendar, while there are also other social rugby opportunities in the county (see below).
