THE quarter-finals of the Devon Junior Cup are now known.
Buckfastleigh will host Dartmouth, OPM will entertain Exeter Athletic, Totnes will welcome North Tawton to Borough Park, while Torrington will play Old Techs at Donnacroft Fields.
North Tawton booked their place in the last eight by overcoming previously unbeaten Exeter Saracens 41-5 away.
Both Conor Stevens and Craig Dennis scored hat-tricks in North Tawton’s six-try win. Paul Edwards scored Exeter Saracens’ only try.
Exeter Athletic were given a bit of a scare by Ilfracombe before narrowly winning 19-12 at Oil Mill Lane.
Chris Brown (2) and Jake Roberts scored Athletic’s tries, while Mark Gisbey scored twice for Ilfracombe.
Old Techs were another Devon One side who were given a tough test by Devon Merit Table opponents. They edged out Salcombe 21-11 at a windy Weston Mill.
Matt Simmonds scored two tries for the hosts, who had Joel Dicken kicking the rest of the points. Max Rawlinson collected Salcombe’s only try, with Lee Clarke kicking two penalties.
Buckfastleigh had Harry Laity scoring four tries as they beat lower league DHSOB 49-0 at Stonehouse Creek. Richard Life and Josh Gale both also bagged two tries for the visitors.
OPMs, Torrington, Dartmouth and Totnes received walkovers into the cup quarter-finals.
With four teams pulling out of the cup, the Devon Junior Plate will go straight to the semi-final stage. A draw will be made shortly for that with Ilfracombe, Salcombe, DHSOB and Exeter Saracens in that competition.
