Great turnout at the Devon RFU U18 Assessment Day Sun 29th Oct 2023

The Devon male U18’s have kicked off the 2023/24 season with a very successful assessment day held on Sunday 29th October at the Ashbury Golf Hotel.

Ninety boys turned up to be assessed in a mixture of weather conditions, we had rain, sun and wind but the boys made the most of it.

A big thank you to the coaches and assessors who helped out on the day. Steve Lane, Darren Oxland (who stepped in and took over whistle duties), Mark Long, Mark Millard, Steve Alexander, Graham Sage, Sean Cook, Harry Rodwell, Spenser Owen.

The boys who took part should know the outcome early next week and if successful will be invited to the second part of the selection process to be held next Sunday 5th Nov 2023 at Okehampton RFC.

This is the first stage in the process for the boys and the final selected squad will be heading up to Hartpury College to play Gloucestershire on the 3rd Dec, Oxfordshire on the 17th Dec and Dorset & Wilts on the 7th Jan.

The boys will then be assessed again during the three games by the South West England Counties Selectors who will pick a squad from the eight Southwest Counties to represent South West England Counties.
