Devon RFU presented their Honda Volunteer of the Year Awards on Friday 30th June at Newton Abbot Rugby Club. With presentations taking place up to 35 nominees were invited where each received a Honda VOTY Certificate, Honda reusable cup and RFU Honda Notebook.

From the 35 3 nominees were nominated to be considered for national recognition by the RFU at Twickenham. The successful 3 were Simon Coburn Director of Junior Rugby at Newton RFC, Leigh Davies Women & Girls Coach at Exeter Saracens RFC and Sian Brooks Girls and Under 18 manager at Devon RFU.

Each received an RFU Honda Backpack. Following this the RFU were tasked to select one of the three nominees to enter the national finals which included a day at Twickenham Stadium as a guest of the RFU and also the opportunity to watch an England International.

The successful volunteer was Sian Brooks who also received a bottle of Bollinger Champagne from Paul Harris, President of Devon RFU. The whole event hosted by Newton Abbot Rugby Club was an ideal occasion to celebrate the contribution made by 100s of volunteers at clubs all over Devon.
