Lead the Future of Representative Rugby in Devon

Can you inspire the next generation of Devon rugby players?

Devon RFU is seeking an ambitious, passionate and forward-thinking volunteer to become our Director of Representative Rugby.

This is one of the most influential volunteer roles within Devon Rugby, providing the opportunity to shape representative rugby across the county and create inspiring experiences for players, coaches and volunteers.

From our Senior Men's and Women's teams through to our developing representative pathways, you'll lead the strategic direction of county representative rugby and help ensure Devon remains a county that players are proud to represent.

About the Role

As Director of Representative Rugby, you'll lead the development and delivery of Devon RFU's representative rugby programme.

Working alongside our dedicated team of coaches, team managers and volunteers, you'll help create a player-centred environment that develops talented players, strengthens county pride and supports long-term player retention.

You'll oversee all representative rugby activity across Devon, providing leadership to our management teams while ensuring our programmes remain inclusive, sustainable and aligned with Devon RFU's strategic priorities.

What You'll Be Responsible For

You will:

• Lead the strategic direction of representative rugby across Devon.
• Support and develop our Senior Men's, Senior Women's and age-grade representative programmes.
• Recruit, develop and support outstanding Head Coaches, Team Managers and volunteers.
• Build strong relationships with clubs to identify and develop representative talent.
• Promote representative rugby as an inspiring aspiration for players across the county.
• Ensure our programmes provide outstanding player experiences on and off the field.
• Oversee representative budgets, planning and performance.
• Lead exciting projects, including celebrations of 150 years of Representative Rugby in Devon.
• Help strengthen player retention by providing meaningful opportunities for players to continue their rugby journey.

We're looking for someone who:

• Is passionate about rugby and believes in the value of representative rugby.
• Can inspire and lead volunteers.
• Enjoys building positive relationships with clubs and coaches.
• Thinks strategically while also supporting operational delivery.
• Wants to leave a lasting legacy for Devon Rugby.
• Believes that representative rugby should be enjoyable, inclusive and aspirational.
• Previous experience in coaching, team management, club leadership or rugby administration would be beneficial, but above all we're looking for someone who can bring people together and help our representative programme thrive.
