Devon U20s Set for Westcountry Showdown as Jason Leonard Cup Campaign Begins

Devon’s Under 20s begin their 2026 Jason Leonard Cup campaign this month with a Westcountry derby against neighbours Somerset at Sidmouth RFC.

The match takes place on Sunday 15 March, with kick-off at 2.30pm, and promises to be an exciting start to the competition for the county’s emerging talent.

The Jason Leonard Cup provides a vital development pathway for young players progressing through the county system, offering the opportunity to represent Devon at a high level while competing against neighbouring counties.

This opening fixture is the first of two group matches for Devon, with the second game scheduled away to Cornwall later in the competition. A strong start against Somerset will be crucial as the squad looks to build momentum and progress through the tournament.

Supporters are encouraged to come along to Sidmouth RFC and get behind the team as the next generation of Devon rugby takes to the field. With a strong squad assembled and plenty of local pride on the line, the fixture promises to be a competitive and entertaining afternoon of county rugby.
