OPM RFC had the pleasure of welcoming their local councillor Vivien Pengelly to view the club’s new developments and facilities at King George V Playing Fields.
The former Lord Mayor and leader of Plymouth City Council visited the Elburton-based club on Sunday to see a huge number of juniors training view the new changing facilities and social area.
She met many of the club’s junior committee and coaches, their new catering manager Val Noden and discussed future plans and projects for the Elburton facility.
Cllr Pengelly has been an active member of the OPM family and supported the club in many ways.
OPM chairman Matt Glastonbury said: “Vivien was very impressed with the recent developments undertaken, noting the huge impact and benefits that this would have for the local community. It will provide an excellent facility for children of all ages to play rugby and exercise, have fun, learn the RFU values and enjoy the pitches and social area which are now available.
“She is looking forward to assisting us again this season and we would like to thank her for all of her efforts in supporting the OPM family.”
