Bryan Pitman from Brixham RFC was recognised by the RFU in this year’s Honda Volunteer of the Year Awards in the Connecting the Community category.
Bryan was one of over 2,000 volunteers nominated across England for their commitment and impact to the sport which saw 47 local winners invited to an event hosted at Twickenham, the home of England Rugby.
He was recognised for founding the Rugby Cubs programme at Brixham, launching their Walking Rugby team and training over 80 club members as mental health supporters alongside the Looseheadz charity. His leadership of the clubs 150th anniversary celebrations was also highlighted.
Also invited to Twickenham alongside Bryan was Plymstock Albion Oaks President John Dobson who has put in hours of dedicated service to the club. Devon RFU thank both Bryan and John, as well as all the other volunteers in our clubs who make sure games are played across the County.
