Devon Rugby Launch RFU County Championship Campaign for 2026
Devon Rugby is set for an exciting spring as all three County representative sides prepare to take part in the 2026 RFU County Championship programme, with fixtures confirmed for the Under 20s, Senior Men, and Senior Women.
With strong performances across the county game in recent seasons, anticipation is high as Devon’s teams once again prepare to represent the green and black with pride.
Under 20s: One More Step
The Devon Under 20s return to the RFU Jason Leonard Under 20s Championship with unfinished business after reaching last season’s final at the Allianz Stadium.
Their 2026 group campaign begins with a fierce county rivalry clash:
- Sunday 22nd February 2026 | Cornwall U20s vs Devon U20s
Devon then return home for a crucial second group fixture:
- Sunday 15th March 2026 | Devon U20s vs Somerset U20s at The Blackmore, Sidmouth RFC
A strong home crowd at Sidmouth will be vital as the next generation of Devon talent looks to build on last season’s success.

Senior Men: Championship Challenge

The Senior Men face a demanding three-game group schedule as they look to make their mark in the County Championship and return to the Home of England Rugby for the third consecutive year.
The campaign begins on the road before back-to-back home fixtures:
- Saturday 9th May 2026 | Buckinghamshire vs Devon
- Saturday 16th May 2026 | Devon vs Somerset Astley Park | Brixham RFC (Kick-off 2.30pm)
- Saturday 23rd May 2026 | Devon vs Gloucestershire Pottington Road | Barnstaple RFC (Kick-off 2.30pm)
With two home matches to close the group, Devon will be aiming to turn strong county support into a decisive advantage.
Senior Women: County Pride on Display
The Current Division Two Champions, Devon’s Senior Women also begin their County Championship journey in May, with a balanced home-and-away schedule.
Their fixtures are:
- Sunday 10th May 2026 | Berkshire vs Devon
- Sunday 24th May 2026 | Devon vs Cornwall | North Tawton
The home fixture against Cornwall promises to be a highlight, with county rivalry and pride firmly on the line. The team will also be hoping to wrestle the Tamar Cup away from our Black and Gold opponents.

Across all age groups and teams, the RFU County Championship provides a vital pathway for players, coaches, and volunteers across Devon’s clubs. Community support will once again play a huge role, and supporters are encouraged to attend matches and back their county throughout the campaign.
Further details, including kick-off times and squad announcements, will be shared via the Devon Rugby website and social media channels in the coming weeks.
